The measure concerns the promotion of a new "bicycle culture", the launching of the city owned bicycle renting system, the increase in the use of bicycles, the integrating of the bicycle renting system with public transport stops, the purchasing of 100 city owned bikes, the searching for private funds and sponsorship. Innovative are the possibility to rent a city-bicycle, the number of renting places to take and leave a bicycle and the use of private and environment protection funds.

New bicycle stands.
Still in this year in the city center and in the down-town should be installed about 100 bicycle stands.
Furthermore the City intends to run local chain of bicycle lendings, situated near the big communication junctions and attractive places taking into consideration recreation. Forms Group
"Bicycle for student"
University of Science and Technology has worked out the idea of creation the bicycle path linking Student City with the didactic part.
The idea appeared in order to move quick and healthy in the campus - ipso facto the limitation of the car traffic. University intends to buy bicycles by its own resources and loan them on the basis of Students Electronic Identity Card or Employee Electronic Identity Card. The program "Bicycle for student" should begin in the spring of 2008. Forms Group
New Panel for affairs bicycle lines and bicycle renting has been called.
New Panel for affairs bicycle lines and security of non-protected has been called on 15 March 007 in accordance with the signed directive of Deputy Mayor.
The tasks of the Panel will work through introduction of the project municipal bike renting, deal with security of cyclist and pedestrians and disabled people. The chairman of the panel became Professor Wiesław Starowicz. Forms Group
The tender question
The question before tender has been sent on the 16 November 2006 to 11 providers concerned renting system project and purchase 100 bikes and 6 self service bicycle stands. Deadline for tender by 30 November 2006.

XVIII session of the members of The Panels f.a. bicycle lines in Krakow has been held on the 3 October 2006.
During the meeting the elaboration "Conception of the bicycle renting, parking's and bike stands system" has been presented. Forms Group

Actually an elaboration - updating of study bicycle tracks for Krakow is being prepared. Based on this elaboration will be compile a conception of municipal bicycle renting system.
